My school doesn't do any cheers because the girls find them to be dumb, myself i enjoy the cheers that most the teams have, but i also agree when its every 2 seconds from one team it gets to be too much. But it helps to keep the girls energy flowin and keep them from gettin down if they messed up. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Usually the one-lane courtesy rule is announced in the coaches meeting...or it's just a given. Don't have my copy of the handbook here.
I prefer the PBA courtesy rule myself, however from watching college bowling for 9 years (and watching college players at other tournaments) I don't think a lot of players understand it. (Then again, I would also love a shot-clock rule such as the PBA has...that would help end worthless meetings and 7-8 hour squads.) Interesting that the one lane rule doesn't seem to affect the women very much...I guess their concentration is better? LOL

I guess I have learned to drown the girls cheering out.

I guess i can thank Nassberg for that. yelling when we shoot practice tends to do that haha. i gotta drown him out somehow...mentally tough!

I could definitely do without all the cheering...

It really is quite funny to read all the bickering that goes on every week seeing who is the best and who is going to win nationals this year.

I have to disagree with you about cheering being overrated. It pumps our team up, and keeps our spirits high. This past weekend, we all got down on our selves, and we stopped cheering, and then bowled bad. Once we decided to get our heads out of our asses, and keep the cheering up, we bowled amazing.
